To Get to Wolfville

By Air

The closest airport is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ). Wolfville is 100 KM (one hour drive) from the Halifax airport. We recommend advance reservations if you are renting or taking a taxi. There are several ways to reach Wolfville from Halifax:

1. Car Rental [see ground transportation at the airport and RentalCars.com]
2. Airport Taxi. We have made arrangements with Woods limousine. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. Please contact Woods directly for reservations (1-888-720-5466 or using the online reservation form on their website). Mention that you are attending the Statistical Society of Canada (SSC) conference. They will select the most economical vehicle to be shared by travellers with similar arrival times in Halifax Airport.

   Individual reservations are $110 (Economy; 1-2 persons) or $130 (Sedan; 1-3 persons). Shared rides will range from $45 - $60 depending on how many people are travelling at the same time. At peak times (Sunday and late Wednesday / Thursday), rates could be lower, depending on the number of people booked for one trip.

3. Bus. [Acadian Lines; 1-800-567-5151] provides two trips daily between Wolfville and the Airport. These are relatively inexpensive ($38 round trip), but the trip is considerably longer as you must change busses in downtown Halifax.

    

By Train

VIA Rail Canada offers daily service to Halifax [see timetables]. Once you arrive at the Halifax railway station, you can rent a car, take the Acadian bus or Woods limousine taxi service to reach Wolfville.

By Bus

Greyhound offers daily service to Halifax. Once you arrive at the bus terminal in Halifax (same as the Acadian bus terminal), you can rent a car, take the Acadian bus or Woods limousine taxi serice to reach Wolfville.

By Ferry to Nova Scotia

The following ferries provide service to Nova Scotia.

To Travel in Wolfville

• Public transit: Kings Transit. Note that this service runs only once an hour, and ends in the early evening.
• Car rentals: There are a few local Car Rental Agencies if you would prefer to rent for a shorter period.

  Enterprise also has a booth at the Airport, but there appears to be a premium charged at the airport.

All hotels are a short taxi ride from the University. Evangeline Inn is also on a bus route, on the Wolfville--Brooklyn route.

Parking on campus

Daily parking permits can be be purchased at the registration desk ($6/day). The campus map identifes parking areas, including limited free parking at the south end of campus.
