Actuarial/Statistical Analyst North Vancouver, BC

Position Highlights:

ICBC has an exciting professional career opportunity in its Business Intelligence Competency Centre which provides advanced analytical services and strategic decision support to corporate business areas.

Based at our North Vancouver head office, the Actuarial/Statistical Analyst will develop relationships with a variety of internal clients while providing business intelligence analyses in support of business decisions. They will build statistical models to assess the impact of corporate strategies and programs, providing expertise on the use of appropriate methodologies.

Position Requirements:

This role requires expertise in advanced analytical methods, and a solid understanding in how analytics drive business success. Specific requirements include formal training and experience in advanced multivariate statistics, general linear modeling including predictive modeling, and a solid working knowledge of statistical tools, preferably SAS. The ability to write clear technical reports and present findings to diverse audiences is essential, as is the ability to develop good business relationships grounded in effective communication skills and a strong customer service orientation. Experience in data mining would be an asset.

Preference will be given to applicants with a degree in statistics, mathematics or actuarial training along with three to five years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
