The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to fill the Statistical Analyst position in the Corporate Communication and Planning Services division in Yellowknife. Reporting to the Manager, Planning Services, you will be part of a professional, dynamic team in a progressive and exciting organization. You will be responsible to develop, maintain and interpret claims, assessment and economic data required for evaluation and decision making by the WSCC management team. You have a university degree in a related field and a minimum of two years of work experience in a similar business environment. As the statistical expert within the WSCC, the Statistical Analyst is able to use judgment and technical expertise to discern trends and other factors that may affect WSCC operations. In addition to providing reliable and accurate statistical analysis services to the Commission, the position incumbent represents the statistical interests of the WSCC on national committees and to various external agencies and stakeholders. The Statistical Analyst prepares information regarding corporate performance measures and the Association of Workers’ Compensation Boards of Canada (AWCBC) Key Statistical Measures. Equivalent combinations of education and/or experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Salary starts at $39.16 to $44.44 per hour (approx. $76,362 to $86,658 per annum), plus a Northern Allowance of $1.77 per hour ($3,450 per annum).
