Professor of Actuarial Science

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Actuarial Science.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to teach at all three levels of the curriculum, supervise graduate students, engage in ongoing research and publication, and contribute to the academic life and reputation of the institution, especially the development of the actuarial program.

Requirements

• PhD in Actuarial Science or a related discipline.
• Teaching experience.
• Strong research record.
• Expertise in financial mathematics would be an asset.
• Fellow or Associate level membership in a recognized North American professional actuarial organization (consult the following website for recognized organizations: http://www.soa.org/education/general-info/credit-exams-passed/edu-application-foradmission.aspx). Associate members are expected to complete their Fellowship within a reasonable timeframe. In exceptional circumstances, candidates who demonstrate their ability to reach the Associate level (or equivalent) within the first three years of their appointment may be considered.
