Job Summary The Methodologist works within an interdisciplinary matrix team providing specialized methodology expertise and leadership for the planning and coordination of key HCC analytical deliverables. The Methodologist also supports the development of new reports, education, and knowledge exchange products for a diverse range of audiences from clinicians to policy-makers. Duties and Responsibilities In collaboration with the HCC Operations and Development teams, provides leadership in the planning and execution of selected HCC analytical deliverables, in particular the production of analytical and data quality reports on the home and continuing care sectors. Provides leadership for special analytical studies, including collaborations with other internal or external researchers. Provides advice and participates in the planning, development and pilot-testing of education and knowledge exchange products to support the understanding and use of HCC data. Coaches and mentors other team members in the analysis and application of data for organizational decision support. Develops and maintains detailed knowledge of Home and Continuing Care data holdings, and tools used by CIHI to access these data holdings and perform analyses. Monitors current practices in the field of health services research and maintains knowledge of other data sources within and external to CIHI that shed light on the home and continuing care sector. Establishes and maintains relevant professional contacts with various organizational bodies such as governments, health regions/facilities, national associations, provincial analytic groups, and other related agencies. Prepares reports and background/discussion papers related to assigned projects. Contributes to the promotion of CIHI products and services through participation on external committees, presentations and/or attendance at conferences, preparation of articles for publication and other activities, as required.
