Faculty Position in Biostatistics

The Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CE&B) at McMaster University seeks an outstanding
candidate for a three-year (renewable) faculty position in biostatistics at the Assistant Professor rank (or
associate professor rank) in the Special category. The successful candidate will join the Biostatistics Unit at St
Joseph's Healthcare-Hamilton. Qualifications for the position include:

Qualifications include a PhD or equivalent in biostatistics, statistics or related field, an established record of
research in biostatistics demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals and participation as PI or Co-I
on peer-reviewed funded research, experience in developing statistical methods for clinical trials and health
research, and proficiency with statistical applications in population clinical trials/outcomes research/health
services research in diabetes, cardiovascular health, knowledge translation and primary care. An excellent
record of collegiality and collaboration are prerequisites for this position. Experience in the application and
teaching of biostatistics in health research and statistical consultation with clinician researchers are important
attributes.

The successful applicant will be a regular contributor to the Health Research Methodology Graduate Program,
the Bachelor of Health Sciences Undergraduate Program or other educational programs at McMaster. The
Department invites applicants with research interests and proven expertise in the development of statistical
methodology for epidemiology and health research, and experience with statistical applications in
population/clinical trials/health services research.
